May 10th – Webinar – A Guided Tour, Azure SQL Databases

Presenting: A Guided Tour – Azure SQL Databases

Thursday, May 10th at 11:00am-12:00pm EST

You know about the cloud but you’re not there yet. Is it hard? Is it easy? How do you get started? Come to this webinar and see for yourself. We’ll start with nothing and end up with a deployed Azure SQL Database. We’ll even run a quick report and enable Geo-Redundant Disaster Recovery with just a few clicks.

The goal is to take the mystery out, show the capabilities and get you thinking about what going to the cloud could look like and what it can do for you and your company. The future belongs to those who have this knowledge and know where to apply it.

This will be PowerPoint light and demo heavy. You’ll leave with an understanding of the capabilities in the cloud, some resource links outlining what we did, and hopefully some curiosity to see what else is up there in the cloud as you start exploring.

In this webinar we will:

  • Discuss the differences between Iaas and PaaS
  • Discuss the Amazon and Microsoft offerings – with a focus on Azure SQL Database
  • Build out an environment from scratch in a Azure Portal
  • Migrate data from an “on-premises” database into a SQL DB and query it from on-prem tools
